Up Coming Projects & Events!

We're looking forward to a great season. We do not have an official date for Picture Day yet, but keep your eye out for a flier from your coach. The coaches will sign up for your teams’ time at the Spring Coaches meeting and will be given a flier to hand out to all players. Watch for up coming dates of interest such as the annual picnic in the next newsletter.

Meet Your Field Coordinator!

My name is Jason James and I am the new field coordinator for the Englewood Soccer Association. Since I am new, I thought I would let you know all about myself.

I grew up and went to the same schools in Englewood that my parents did. I am a true native of Colorado and Englewood; third generation concrete contractor in the same location.

I started my sports career at age five playing for Englewood leagues. I developed a medical condition that limited my abilities to play sports but my love for sports never diminished, they changed. Coaching soccer and individual sports is what I've focused on. Skiing, rock-climbing, hiking and golf are some of my favorites. Now that I am a parent, my time and energy is for my children, mainly taxiing them around. I want to pass on my love of sports, that’s why I coach and became involved.

Please remember to pick up any trash on the fields at practices or games. That includes orange peels, please don’t leave them behind.

From the Registrar

Hi, my name is Kim and I will be the new registrar for ESA. I look forward to working with each and every parent and child in the next couple of years. Please feel free to ask questions or tell me if I am not doing something correctly, because I am still learning the process and the job. Feel free to contact me. If I don't answer, please leave a message; my goal is to call you back within 48 hours.

We do understand that there was a very short timeframe from first practice to first game. Unfortunately, this was how the dates fell. Please make any accommodations as needed so your child is able to attend any scheduled practices. These practices are extremely important for the coaches to determine your child's skills to fit the best position.

Have a great Spring Season and GOOD LUCK to all the coaches and players!

Double-Pass or Through-Pass

  1. Players work in groups of 5.

  2. Make the grid 10-by-20 yards.

  3. Player 1 passes to player 2.
Player 2 passes back to player 1.
Player 1 passes to player 3.
Player 3 passes to player 2 who has spun around into the open space.
Player 2 plays the ball over the endline.

  4. Player 3 starts on the line at the end of the grid.

  5. The player who was at the front of the line becomes the center player (2) and play continues back and forth in the grid (repeat going the opposite direction in the grid).

  6. When the defender gains possession or kisks the ball out of the grid, start over.

  7. When the ball is played (passed) to the center player, you can add more defenders.

  8. Play for 15 minutes.

30 Minute Meals for Moms on the Go!

Pre-heat oven to 450 degrees F.

Brown hamburger, drain grease, add taco seasoning according to package directions.

Spread refried beans on pizza crust, add hamburger mixture with cheese. Bake according to directions for pizza crust. When the pizza is finished, top with remaining ingredients and enjoy!
